#TeamCOPEG at the 2024 National Oratory Contest

This year, with a January full of activities, our General Directors — Dr. Enrique Samudio representing Panama and Dr. Celia Antognoli representing the U.S. — visited the student participants of the 2024 National Oratory Contest, as COPEG was one of the official sponsors of the event. The students enjoyed a fun and educational experience through prize-winning games, alongside a presentation by our General Directors about the Screwworm (GBG). They also introduced the students to COPEG’s mission and the benefits of the Program for both the livestock sector and public health.

COPEG was also present at the grand finale of this prestigious educational contest, which annually rewards the talent and eloquence of Panamanian youth. The central theme of this edition was:
“Energy Transition in Panama: An Opportunity for Sustainability, Democratization, and Economic Development of the Country.”

Through this theme, the 15 finalists shared thoughtful reflections and critical analysis on the importance of setting precedents for best practices to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources.

Daniel Domínguez García, a student from Instituto Episcopal San Cristóbal, was named the winner of the 18th edition of the contest, demonstrating that young people hold an important place in society and represent the greatest treasure for the future of our nations.

COPEG contributed to education—an essential pillar for youth development. It is worth noting that this important contest has significant reach, as it was broadcast nationwide through SERTV (main signal) and aired on national radio, television, and internet. Additionally, it was internationally broadcast via NTN24 and RTV-PLAY+, reaching over 56 million viewers across the United States, Canada, Europe, and all of Latin America.
